Science Club is a laid-back place to relax and have a few drinks with friends from Residences on the Avenue. This small and quirky DC establishment has decent wine and beer lists (though they’re not particularly long lists), and regulars say the bartenders can be counted on to mix a pretty stiff cocktail. The food menu is focused on vegetarian dishes that range from quesadillas stuffed with roasted peppers, onions, and jack cheese to a unique quinoa tabouli served over a bed of mixed greens. Veggie burgers and fries with spicy vegan aioli round out the menu with some classic bar-food flavors.
Science Club is also well known for hosting live music almost every night of the week, so it’s a great place to get your groove on. Happily, however, regulars say that the music doesn’t drown out all possibility of carrying on a conversation, so it’s still a good place to go if your primary goal is to chat.
