Flip your calendar to August and mark an event that you won’t want to miss. The 17th Street Festival is set for Saturday, August 24 and promises another year of art, food, and fun to cap off the summer. The 2019 festivities include over 100 vendors, 60+ of which are artists displaying some of their best wares. Come to pick out a few unique pieces of jewelry or ceramics, find treasures to adorn your home, or do some early holiday shopping. Not in the market for art? Just come for the food, live music, and popular kids’ corner complete with snow cones, face painting, and games. You can even take part as a merchant, vendor, or volunteer.
The 17th Street Festival takes place from noon until 6 p.m., and occupies 17thbetween P and R Streets (1500-1600 block). No special tickets or registration is needed for this free event. Just come hungry and with a few bucks in your wallet to celebrate the unique businesses and artists of DC.
