Seeking things to do in DC over Thanksgiving? Sign up now for the 18th Annual Thanksgiving Day Trot for Hunger! This 5K fun run and family-friendly event is so much more than an easy way to burn off the evening’s caloric consumption. This important event raises funds and awareness to combat poverty and homelessness in the Washington metro area. Last year alone, registration fees helped to provide meals, showers, clothes, and counseling for thousands of men, women, and children.
You can choose to participate be either running (or walking) as a timed or untimed participant, or by volunteering to help at the event. Little ones have the Kid’s One Mile Little Turkey Fun Run at 8:30 a.m., plus, everyone can enjoy music, games, and more at Freedom Plaza during the race. Visit the website to register now, donate, or volunteer, and be sure to note all the details on race packet pickup times, course rules, and metro instructions.
